Taylor Swift is finally ready to swap microphones for mood boards—or at least start thinking about it.
The pop megastar wrapped up her The Life of a Showgirl release week with a lighthearted appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she opened up about the next big project on her list: her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce.
During the interview, host Seth Meyers couldn’t help teasing Swift about the expectations surrounding her big day. “Everyone assumes you’ll put a lot of thought into your wedding,” he said. “So, I just want to give you permission to send an e-vite.”
Swift laughed and admitted, “Yeah, I haven’t even thought about this yet—so I’m glad you’re bringing it up.” Meyers quickly apologized for adding to her to-do list, but the singer brushed it off, replying, “No, it’s fine. We’re at the tail end of release week, and honestly, it’s about time I start thinking about it.”
It seems Swift is finally ready to turn her focus from album launches to aisle walks, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
Taylor has dropped a few hints this week about her and Kelce’s wedding plans. In an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills, she revealed that the couple has already made some big decisions—like hosting a destination wedding. Still, she’s not in a rush. “Right now, I’m doing one thing at a time,” Swift said. “I’m thrilled that I get to marry this person, and I’ll think about the rest once this album is out.”
While she didn’t share too many personal details during her Seth Meyers interview, Swift did reveal one funny behind-the-scenes story from her Eras Tour. When Kelce attended her shows, he would often give her “tea” about the celebrities he met in the VIP tent. One night, he hilariously confused Hugh Grant’s wife, Anna Elisabet Eberstein, for director Greta Gerwig—a mix-up Swift still laughs about.
Earlier in the week, Swift told Ryan Seacrest she’s still figuring out how much of her relationship to share with the public. “The moment Travis proposed, that’s something I’ll have forever,” she said. “We both share so much because of what we do, but there are moments I want to keep just for us.”
She added that she and Kelce try to find a healthy balance between openness and privacy. “We’re both pretty relaxed about things,” she said. “But I still make sure there are parts of our life that belong only to us—and thankfully, there are many of those.”
Swift later revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon how Kelce pulled off his romantic proposal. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end had secretly turned their backyard into a “secret garden” while pretending to film an episode of his New Heights podcast with her as a guest.
“The podcast was really just a distraction,” Swift recalled with a laugh. “He even put blackout drapes on every window so I wouldn’t see what he was up to.”
Once the recording ended, Kelce suggested a quiet walk. “He said, ‘Do you want to go out back and have a glass of wine?’ And of course, I said yes,” she explained. “That’s when I realized why he’d been so nervous. It was perfect—everything I could’ve hoped for.”
Now that her The Life of a Showgirl promotion is winding down, Swift seems ready to trade late-night interviews for wedding plans. If there’s one thing fans know for sure, it’s that her big day will be just as magical, romantic, and unforgettable as her music.
